Dr. Ellen Burcham is working with both small and large animals at Spring Mill Veterinary Service. She is a graduate of Brownstown Central High School and did her undergraduate work at Murray State University in Kentucky. Dr. Burcham graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. She grew up on a small farm and competed in rodeos across the country with her younger brother from first grade until entering veterinary school.
She is married to Chad Burcham, a full-time, self-employed cattleman and manager of the clinic. Chad and Ellen are the proud parents of Ivy Lou and Mattie Marie. Their pets are Rita, a Shetland Collie and Australian Shepherd cross, Rosa, a Border Collie, and Bernie, a Saint Bernard. Dr. Burcham enjoys spending time outside and riding the farm checking calves.
Chad Burcham has taken the manager role at the clinic since the purchase. You may also see him assisting his wife on farm calls. He grew up in Vallonia, IN helping on his family farm. He is a 2013 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. While in college he competed in Collegiate Livestock Judging. He spent a year working at Schaff Angus Valley in Saint Anthony, North Dakota. Chad and Ellen purchased a cattle farm in Salem where they cow/calf to finish and sell private freezer beef. Currently Chad is on the board of directors for Jackson County Cattlemen’s and Washington County Cattlemen’s Associations. He is also the Secretary and Treasurer of Springville Feeder Auction. Chad enjoys spending time with family and anything to do with beef cattle.
Julie has been with Spring Mill Veterinary Service since March of 2014.
In her free time she breeds Shiba Inus. She is involved in conformation showing and hopes to do rally and lure coursing.
Amber has been with Spring Mill Veterinary Service since February of 2014.
Amber has one Yorkie named Maris and two Schnauzer rescues named Faith and Stevie.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, shooting guns, riding four wheelers, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
Eric started working with us in July of 2021.
He plans on furthering his education in Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University and has a cute Golden Retriever named Cheyenne. In his free time, Eric likes playing guitar, listening to music, and spending time with family.
Sadie joined the team as our receptionist in July 2022.
She has a Labrador Retriever mix named Rory and a Golden Retriever named Amos. Her and her husband, Levi, had their first child in the Fall of 2022.
